My Approach
Hi there, my name is Marie and I create spaces for people to realise the patterns of their own minds and move towards feeling more alive, authentic and connected. As an integrative psychotherapist I focus on collaborating with you to create a treatment that is individualised, meaning tailored to your specific strengths, needs and wishes. I work with couples and individuals in a way that honours your unique personhood (and coupledom), while recognising the contextual and systemic influences that have shaped your life.
My approach is warm, inquisitive and creative. I endeavour to create a safe and illuminating container that supports your desired changes by exploring how you have come to be the person you are. Together we anchor in the present moment to bring forth insight of your experience of the world. In support of your process I lend a variety of sense-making tools and draw from a range of therapeutic modalities such as systems theory, developmental psychology and mentalization based therapy (to name a few). Overall, my mind is in service to you coming to terms with yourself and unfurling your greatest potential.
I am passionate about working with couples, because our most intimate relationships often bring up our deepest patterns and making changes together is a powerful crucible for healing. As a couples therapist I aim to help you cultivate a relationship that is “regenerative”, which means creating opportunities to heal old wounds and designing a relationship in which all partners can thrive in their personal and family lives. Relationships are complex and I give great attention to making room for the nuances of each partner’s experience to discover personalised pathways towards safe and nourishing connection.
I understand finding the right therapist for this time in your life is crucial, so should you have any questions please don't hesitate to be in touch.
